ANIMA is built on curiosity, creativity and community.

We are an independent documentary studio and creative collective making cinematic nonfiction in all its forms, from short documentaries and experimental films to ambitious feature-length work.

Everything starts with curiosity. A person, a place, an idea, a question, something that makes us want to know more. We follow that curiosity and see where it takes us.

Collaboration is at the heart of ANIMA. Alongside our own films, we create opportunities for emerging creatives to step into real productions, try something new and make work together.

But making the films is only part of it. We want to build a platform that helps documentaries reach more people and find new audiences. Through films, conversations, podcasts, social content and exhibitions, we expand the conversation beyond the film itself, creating more ways for people to discover, engage with and share the stories we tell.
